Arguably one of the biggest exhibits in all of Southern California, the annual Comic-Con convention held in San Diego during late July is one of the biggest events in our area. Thousands of fans migrate to San Diego as if the World Cup just took a break and moved a lot closer (Yes, I still miss the World Cup). This year, Comic-Con attendees and faithful fanatics of the comic or film industry got quite the surprise as Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and worldwide critically acclaimed film director Christopher Nolan presented their new film Interstellar. Interstellar is about an engineer who joins a team of researchers and scientists in a quest to uncover the secrets to Earth’s saving after climate change has taken a toll on the planet.
This is quite the treat for film fanatics, as Nolan reveals that he has used more IMAX photography in this film than in any other, and small details of the film are to be slightly revealed as time passes. After all, it’s in Nolan’s personal style to keep secrecy of his projects as much as he can. Interstellar will premiere in American cinemas on November 7, 2014, and the cast includes well known actors such as Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, and Michael Caine.
